Sombre mood has engulfed Lanet, Bahati area in Nakuru County after the brutal killing of a well-known church minister, Reverend Julius N. Ndema, who served at PCEA Tabuga Church.
The incident has left congregants, residents, and the wider church community in grief after the respected minister was found dead inside the church compound in what is believed to be a violent attack.
According to early reports and information from sources close to the church, Reverend Ndema may have been attacked by a group of criminals who have allegedly been causing insecurity in parts of Bahati.
It is reported that the attackers confronted him inside the church before assaulting him and killing him in cold blood.
The shocking discovery of his body inside the church has raised fear and anger among residents, many of whom say they no longer feel safe even in places of worship.
Church members described the incident as heartbreaking, saying the minister was a peaceful and dedicated servant of God who had worked closely with the congregation for years.
Many congregants who arrived at the church after the incident were left in disbelief, struggling to understand how such a brutal act could happen in a sacred place.
The atmosphere at PCEA Tabuga has remained tense and filled with mourning as church members gather to support each other.
They are urging police to urgently investigate the matter and ensure that those responsible are arrested and brought to justice.
Former Member of Parliament Hon. Kimani Ngunjiri also condemned the incident, describing it as cruel and unacceptable.
He called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and other security agencies to move quickly and dismantle the gang suspected of being behind the attack.
